Copy-trading statistics: what platform dashboards do and do not show

Platform-published strategy statistics are self-calculated. They describe the strategy account, not the follower's realised outcome.

Short answer: a copy-trading dashboard shows the strategy provider's account history as the platform calculates it. Your own result differs because of spread, leverage, allocation size, entry timing and any interruptions in following.

Gaps to look for

  • Maximum drawdown over the full history, not a recent window.
  • Whether the account is live or demo.
  • Whether the strategy changed instruments or sizing mid-history.
  • Follower-side slippage, which no dashboard can show.
